Photography Information Tips for Photographers
Attending a photography school or taking courses in photography are both important routes to consider. You can take evening classes on lighting and other aspects of commercial photography and still maintain your daytime work schedule, or you can enroll in a two or four year college program and earn an associate or bachelor's degree in commercial photography. Most community colleges offer photography classes, as do most universities or other community adult learning programs. Pursuing a college degree in photography is an excellent idea if you have the time and resources to do so.
Remember though that like in any field, there are many self taught great masters out there. If you don't enroll in a degree program; evening classes, workshops, and weekend and weeklong seminars are wonderful opportunities for newcomers to begin learning or for working professionals to give themselves a fresh approach to their work. As with any new interest you want to explore, you should do some preliminary research, ask a few questions, and find the right seminars or programs for you. Looking at the Web sites of programs that interest you can make the process even simpler. You can do research at your own pace. Information on all legitimate photography schools and organizations, unless they are very new or very small, can usually be found on the Internet.
